How to style a red dress is one of your most often queries on PaulaTrendsets, so, after the popular “As red as an Easter egg” which presented the basic principles for styling a red dress, today’s feature is a more wintery red dress look. As you will see, it is very wearable, as it is not created to walk the red carpet, but go out in real life when the winter temperatures require a beautiful but also warm, functional outfit.
My friend Despina, is wearing a quite casual, 3/4 sleeved dark red dress (Mango) with buttons at the top, over a white long-sleeved polo neck top and woolen grey tights (Calzedonia) to keep her warm and elegant at the same time. In order to dress up the look, she added a black belt with silver crystals (ZARA) to shape the dress at the waist and also glam it up. Accessorising was complete with a pair of pointed black mid-heels with a ribbon at the front (GUESS) and a small black clutch bag with flower appliques. Don’t be scared that the red and white combo will make you look as a little Santa, ‘cos that is why we also used the grey, black and silver, so that when you look at it as a whole, it is a very feminine and smart overall look.
The addition of grey and white elements gives red a fresh touch that we rarely see in red dress styles, as most stylists recommend only one color to match your red dress; red+black, red+gold or red+beige.
A cute and chic outfit perfect for young women.
