Glamour magazine beauty director Alessandra Steinherr hosted an intimate brunch in Hix restaurant and champagne bar at Selfridges for a limited 20 people last Sunday 5th December.
Apart from presenting this holiday season’s best beauty gifts by Bobbi Brown, Alessandra gave us each a goody bag filled with her favourite beauty products. Luckily for me, I have the same complexion with Alessandra thanks to our Mediterranean genes, so the make-up products that flatter her skin and hair colors work well for me too.
For the lips, Alessandra recommends Le Rouge Absolu by Lancome in shade 047, which is a lovely coral pink, and Giorgio Armani lip wax – compact lipstick in shade 2, which is the essential nude we all use every season.
When it comes to mascara, the beauty expert of Glamour magazine recommends Bad Gal Lash by Benefit or YSL Mascara Volume, both in black, or, if you prefer blue, Lancome Hypnose Precious Cells in shade 3 – Densifying Blue, which is a mascara that regenerates lash condition.
Alessandra also recommends we use a brightening face primer as a base to our make-up. “That Gal” by Benefit and Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheer in shade 2 are her favorites.
Some of us have asked her about a hand moisturiser. Alessandra gave us to try Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment Cream that softens hands, strengthens nails and minimizes age spots all at the same time.
Last but not least, Alessandra included “Le Premier Parfum” by Lolita Lempicka in our goody bag. This is a perfume I’ve loved since it hit the stores some years ago. It’s based on the perfume of the licorice flower and I do wear it especially during the winter and Christmas time because of its strong, warm perfume that reminds me of the spices used in Christmas sweets and mulled wine. A floral sweet and sensual perfume.
