[Press Release]
There is no better way to prolong Olympic Fever than partaking in a feel-good shopping stint at Mary Portas’ latest Living & Giving Shop for Save the Children.
The local community will be going for gold when the doors open to Mary’s Living & Giving Shop in Richmond-upon-Thames, Surrey at 12pm on Saturday 18 August.
The design of the shop – which has a prime location on The Green – will reflect the life and beauty of Richmond by bringing some of ‘the outside in’. The beauty of the neighbouring architecture has been echoed in the shop’s design and includes an ingenious ‘Thank You’ tree and contributions from Petersham Nurseries, Osborne & Little and Nina Campbell. Stocked with a selection of award-winning designer brands for both men and women, this boutique gem is the perfect starting block for all fashionistas who are looking to get their wardrobes in tip top shape for the new season ahead. Desirable labels including Hawes & Curtis, Barbour, Raris jewellery, Allegra Hicks and Rupert Sanderson will be available for purchase, all at bargain prices. There will even be a selection of pieces from Mary’s very own eponymous collection, including the limited edition coveted teal leather jacket – only a few of these jackets were made and they were a sell-out within weeks – so this really is a shop opening not to be missed.
Mary Portas and Save the Children are calling for donations and for local volunteers to work in the shop: ‘Richmond is a very special community and the Green is at its heart. I ask the good people of Richmond, please bring along your donations and, if you can, the gift of your time. Volunteering in a Mary’s Living & Giving Shop isn’t just a great way to be part of your community, it’s a way to give something back. This shop will raise money to literally save children’s lives and you can be part of that.’ – Mary Portas, Retail Ambassador, Save the Children
