London-based luxury fashion designer Eleni Kyriacou will soon be launching her first accessories range, to supplement her AW collection, “Pele, the Volcano Goddess”.
Visiting the designer’s studio the other day, I had the chance to see the first piece of the collection, a delicate black lace shawl. A passe-partout for evening looks, and one of the timeless must-haves for every woman’s wardrobe.
As soon as the first shawls arrived from production, they were photographed with a total Eleni Kyriacou look -knit and faux fur skirt from AW 12-13 and bustier top from the upcoming SS13 collection of the designer.
As Eleni showed me, the accessories range for “Pele, the Volcano Goddess”, will also include knit scarves of very unique and original, architectural designs. The first pieces of the accessories collection will debut on the opening day of the 5th Mary’s Living and Giving Shop for Save the Children in Richmont Street, around mid August, since the designer has donate few of them to the ever fashionable charity chain of retail guru, Mary Portas. Eleni Kyriacou has been socially aware since the very launch of her label. Her first catwalk show, for SS12, offered all sales of the evening to the Alkyonides charity. Other than that, Eleni is determined to keep her designs cruelty-free, and has only used faux fur in her AW collection.
