Mabe pearls are the result of a fascinating collaboration between man and nature; although cultured, the hemispherical pearls appear to randomly rise from the shells surface, creating wondrous patterns.
The third collection of GEM SESSIONS explores a hypothetical scenario in which the pearls are orderly placed against the shells surface, almost as if they were fossilized jewels lost in sea.
The making process of the pieces mimics the natural formation of the shells and pearls; the initial designs were constructed by applying dozens of thin layers of melted wax and then embossed, creating arbitrary delicate motifs.
The final pieces are hand-cast in resin mixed with mother-of-pearl powder and then bent and combined using high quality Italian brass parts. They are light and graceful while maintaining a classic and elegant appearance.
